START-AIRR laureate: the INS-SPECT project enters the pre-maturation phase

The INS-SPECT project, led by Dr Jean-Sébastien Annicotte, has just been awarded the START-AIRR1 scheme funded by the Hauts-de-France Region, and co-funding from the I-SITE ULNE foundation in recognition of its ambition and its high potential for innovation.

In collaboration with Prof. Benoît Deprez’s team and the RealCat platform led by Prof. Sébastien Paul, this multidisciplinary project aims to develop an innovative high-throughput screening technology allowing rapid and inexpensive identification of bioactive compounds on the insulin secretion.

The three research teams obtained the proof of concept in 2017. Thanks to the obtaining of this new START-AIRR funding, the INS-SPECT project will now be able to enter its technological maturation phase. The objectives are to develop a method for the simultaneous detection and quantification of several hormones involved in diabetes from complex biological samples.
