We are happy and proud that for the very first time one of our researchers has won this prestigious and essential diabetes competition. We heard from Dr Amélie Bonnefond: “ I am very honored to be the first French researcher since 1999 and the first European woman since 2014 to receive the very prestigious EASD Minkowski Prize. Beyond my research, this award is a global recognition of the considerable efforts carried out for nearly 15 years to dissect the genetic causes of common forms of diabetes and thus advance in the path of precision medicine of the 21st century, and of which the Center National PreciDIAB aims to promote. “
In addition, the next generation is assured since Sarah Meulebrouck, in thesis at UMR1283 / 8199, obtained the André Verbert Day 2020 prize awarded by the scientific committee of the Doctoral School of Health Biology of Lille with her presentation titled “Impact of genetic variants of OPRD1 on metabolic homeostasis”.
Congratulations to our researchers for their deserving work!
